Here are a few more highlights of the Sefton Open 2025.

These two pointillism pieces by Lawrence Johnson are frankly amazing. I'm surprised that whoever acquired the first one did not go for the second one, as they go great together.

Yet another Sam Cookson, this one entitled «Gnome at Home». |

This beautiful pergola by Veronica Haimes is missing a branding opportunity. While it’s aptly entitled «Shelter by Southport Lake», we feel it could have been named something different after the unfortunate incident where an SUV went through one: perhaps «Shelter just moments an encounter with a Mercedes», or «Can’t park there, mate».

If a bank were to be gracious enough to grant me a loan, I’d invest in these two paintings by Louise Devlin just to ensure that they are kept together. I missed when I was first going into the Open (they are on the outside), but had I seen them first I think I would have jumped at the opportunity to purchase this spring/autumn pair. By themselves, of course, they are great; combined, however, their powers multiply. |
